| Objectives To collect, curate, and standardize historical data, including primary written sources, artifacts, and archaeological sites related to ancient and medieval Iberia. |
| Description of work WP2 will involve gathering a comprehensive collection of primary written sources, artifacts, and archaeological site data from various epochs of ancient and medieval Iberia. This will include manuscripts, books, journals, databases, archaeological, geographic, and spatial datasets, along with visual and 3D data from paintings, photographs, and images of artifacts and archaeological sites. The team will employ advanced methodologies to ensure that this data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR), adhering to ethical standards throughout the process. Special attention will be given to integrating diverse datasets within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), employing persistent identifiers like DOIs to enhance the findability and long-term accessibility of the data. The work will be conducted in phases, with careful attention to ethical and IPR considerations, ensuring that both the integrity and responsible handling of AI-generated data are maintained. The WP2 will be led by UA with Daniel Tejerina as the Site Project Director. A dedicated team, including Post-Docs, Data Curators, and Senior Collaborators will execute the meticulous task of data curation. Collaborating with UC3M, the work package will benefit from a diverse range of expertise. This collective effort is crucial for creating a standardized dataset that serves as the foundation for AI tool development and historical research.
